While 2016 got pretty intense at times, I don't think it ever came anywhere close to Eternal's latter levels threw at me. I beat Doom 2016 on Nightmare ( not Ultra-Nightmare) because I didn't feel it was challenging enough on the lower difficulties, but Eternal kicks the living crap out of me. I play on Hurt Me Plenty and have to take breaks for days at a time because the game just gets too intense for me. Marauders don't just tank a ton of damage, you have to play smart against them. They don't feel cheap to me, just quite difficult. As someone who sucks at Marauders, I'd say Marauders are the latter. I agree with the sentiment, but sometimes frustration just comes from cheap/bad sources while other times frustration comes from well made sources.
